MGRM: Post Diverscity Campaign message from MGRM

11.8.9

Dear friends

MGRM would like to express its thanks to all those who supported us during Diverscity Week by attending the numerous events which were organized. The turnout at the Film Festival was the highest ever registered, by far surpassing last year's. Women Space was another huge success, with around 230 women attending the art and music festival which has become an unmissable event in MGRM's calendar. The Pride March was relatively well-attended and ample media coverage was given to the event, with numerous politicians joining in too. A good crowd also attended the 'Sounds of Diversity' concert which was organized by MGRM in collaboration with ZHN - a concert which saw ZHN's choir Symphonik perform with The Pink Singers, a gay and lesbian choir from London.

Diverscity Week was this year also officially supported by the British High Commission who agreed to hang the gay pride flag in their reception, a custom the High Commissions in many foreign countries also adhere to during Pride season. We were pleased to gain the support of the High Commission in Malta too and look forward to collaborate with them in the future.

Following the success of The Pink Singer's concert in Malta, many people have suggested the idea of having an LGBT choir in Malta too. The musical director has already been identified, and so has the rehearsal space. All those who are interested should email us on support@maltagayrights.org to learn more about this new opportunity!
